Abortion in America misc essays

Abortion in America misc essays One of the most debated issues in America is abortion: Pro-life or pro-choice. This is a decision that each person has to make for him or herself. Many people say that abortion is the woman's choice. I firmly believe, however, that if the woman is willing to have sex, she should be willing to suffer the consequences. Being a female myself, I am now with the consequences of choosing to be sexually active. But after hearing that innocent heartbeat, I know it will be worth it. Not everyone feels this way. Over one million babies will be aborted this year because of the careless actions of the sexually active. When Roe v. Wade legalized abortion, it was because a woman was raped and became pregnant due to those unfortunate circumstances, not because she was looking for the easy way out (Schmitt). Abortion has become a form of birth control. Instead of using condoms, birth control, and the best form, abstinence, women have turned to killing the innocent. Abortion is at an all time high. Once a sperm and an egg meet, the egg is fertilized. "You then have a new human being. You have the total DNA, everything that human being will ever be" (Pro-Life). This is not an ant to be stepped on; this is a human life being put to an end because of the negligence of two people (National). In the last few years, the right to die has been a highly debated issue in America. Should people with terminal illnesses be able to choose whether they live or die? I feel this relates well to the issue of abortion. Being pregnant is not a terminal illness. It's not an illness at all. It's a live, breathing, growing human being. Shouldn't that human being have the right to life? Lawmakers have said that people do not have the right to die, so why can't a baby have the right to live? Life is a precious thing, whether inside or outside of the body. It is not something to be toyed with or taken granted of. A baby, no m ...

Challenges of Writing Papers for Students Confessions of an Academic Writer

Challenges of Writing Papers for Students Confessions of an Academic Writer Challenges of Writing Papers for Students: Confessions of an Academic Writer People who are unaware of what it is like to be an academic freelance writer might say it is a swell job: you can work in your pajamas at home, you have a flexible schedule, and drink vodka while you pound out essays and articles (though not advised). However, when one is writing papers for students, there are a bunch of messy details: usually, students provide any minimal instructions, you can have grueling periods of work, and your head can almost explode with the amount of information you have to take in. Messy Instructions Sometimes, students simply write â€Å"do my essay† in the instructions field of the order form. Or even worse, students provide instructions that make no sense. For example: â€Å"Write a compare and contrast essay that shows the cause and effect through a case study format.† Somehow, you are supposed to read the student’s mind and create a masterpiece. In the worse case scenario, they provide super vague instructions and wont even message you back about giving more details and then get mad at you for writing something that they didn’t want. You just feel like slamming your head against your desk. Flexible Extended Working Hours Another overlooked part of being a freelance academic writer for students is that you can work for 12 or more hours in a day. Say you took an order to write a dissertation in five days and it amounts to 50 pages. The student who ordered that dissertation can, at the last moment, send you a message, and say something like, â€Å"Actually, I wanted to write about something different. Can you change the wording around in the whole document and change section 4-11 accordingly.† It is now midnight on a Friday and you just worked your butt off for a week, and essentially have to do the work all over again. Your weekend is gone and your enthusiasm for the project will most likely drop dramatically. Excess of Information It might seem cool to be constantly learning about many things (although seemingly random) and increasing your education, so to say. But, the flip-side of this is that it is easy to get overloaded with information. Writer’s brain, after a day’s work, usually feels like it has been smashed by two thousand articles, words, and ideas. Writers barely have the energy to do anything creative or useful after work. They just feel like playing video games, watching a movie, or sitting on the couch and staring at a wall. By the time writers feel mentally fresh again, it is time to go to sleep. This amassing of information can truly affect one’s work, as the brain can only handle so much information at a time. Writers make more mistakes in my writing in general simply because they have to cope with massive amounts of information each day, which are usually disconnected from each other. As you can see, being an academic paper writer for students is not a dream job. Instead, it is a rewarding preoccupation with plenty of downsides, like dealing with unclear instructions, having an unhealthy amount of work to do at times, and being consistently overloaded with information. Stress is a common factor in the life of an academic writer for students  Ã‚  the kind of stress that makes you want to do something else.

Reaction Paper Personal Statement Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Reaction Paper - Personal Statement Example ise in relationships between physicians and nurses are signals of absence of effective communication skills, which, in its turn, affects the attitude of patients towards nurses and the system of medical care in total. There have been multiple approaches to the issue of communication between a physician and a nurse: from the fields of cooperation, feminist studies, team psychology, cultutal perspective, organizational behavior, human factors science, etc. It has been proved that certain aspects of patient outcomes and safety are related to the level of this professional communication, and some of communication strategies in hospitals turned out to be more effective than others. So the bottom line is – communication between nurses and physicians should be improved by all means, no matter what specific method is used (in the chapter among others the author lists such methods as recognizing corporate culture, quality improvement, continuous assessment, reducing conflict etc). Pretty much all of these methods yield their results, proving effective, and there is no sufficient empirical evidence to prioritise any of them above the others. Claiming that â€Å"there is mixed or weak evidence to su pport using some of the techniques described in the cited literature†, Jean Ann Seago suggests a number of steps to be taken in the course of improving professional communication in a hospital – from evaluating strategies using measuarable outcomes and selecting the one that suits the particular organization to slow and step-by-step implementation of these strategies during a long period of

Contemporary Organisational Design Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3500 words

Contemporary Organisational Design - Essay Example 2007). Overall, previous studies on organizational design serve as an important first step in understanding how organizational designs are used to manage internal control systems in multiple markets. For example, Rodriguez (2006) focuses on organizational culture change from a longitudinal perspective. In the study, the researcher examines how an organization (Brazilian Telecommunication Company) changed from a condition of integration to one of fragmentation and differentiation. Chakrabarti & Varman (2004), in their study of "Contradiction of Democracy in a workers Cooperative" postulate that, organizational democracy has become a key issue in current change management set-ups such as in situations of restructuring, total quality management and enterprise resource planning. According to the researchers, democracy faces significant odds even in those companies that have been expressly initiated for democratic functioning. To the researchers, organizational democracy is an evolving reality. Walton, (2005) draw inspirations from Weber's writing on bureaucracy. Walton, (2005) draw inspirations from Weber's writing on bureaucracy. The researcher in his study uses meta-analytical techniques to estimates the general relationships amongst key aspects of bureaucratic control removing the effects of statiscal artefacts. The current focus on organizational design is on change within the context of an organization, and change within accounting as a subject. This paper attempt a critical analysis on three peer review selected articles published within the last five years in Science direct within the context of organisational design and change. We believe, after our critical review of these articles, there will be ample opportunity for future research to examine how firms use other aspects of organizational design and internal controls such as standardization, internal reporting. Setting in Hills Like White Elephants, by Ernest Hemingway Essay exampl

Swaying trees in the distance, blue skies and birds chirping, all of these are examples of setting. Setting can create the mood and tone of characters in a story. In the story Hills Like White Elephants, the story starts out with our two characters, Jig and the American, also referred to as the man, on a train overlooking mountains. â€Å"The girl was looking off at the line of hills. They were white in the sun and the country was brown and dry† (Hemingway). In the case of this short story, the hills provided Jig something to take her mind off of the grueling conversation she was having with the Man. As said by a critic, â€Å"the story itself is comprised almost entirely of dialogue. Although there is a situation, there is no plot† (Henningfield). This characteristic makes the story harder to identify. As the couple reached the station they sat down on a bench and continued to talk. â€Å"The girl stood up and walked to the end of the station, looking at f ields of grain and trees along the banks of the Ebro† (Hemingway). The location of setting plays a big role in how the characters wi...

The Must Haves Of A Successful Marriage - 1775 Words

The Must Haves of a Successful Marriage Throughout the novel Pride and Prejudice, written by Jane Austen, there are many notable and prominent themes that come up. Out of all of these striking themes, marriage is a topic that comes up many, many times. Compared to the 21st century, when marriage is not as important, the 19th century placed great importance on marriage. Many women married for the sole purpose of money, wealth, and power, while some had married for love and mutual affection. Some women already have some form of inheritance, but still get married just to gain a higher social status, or for companionship. Even though these reasons for marrying are not the best reasons in today’s society, these were the factors that made a successful marriage during Austen’s time. So, according to Pride and Prejudice, a successful marriage consists of a substantial fortune from either side of the marriage, mutual affection, and a good dose of companionship and compatibility. The first ingredient of a successful marriage, according to the novel, is a sound financial foundation. An example of this form of marriage is when Charlotte says â€Å"yes† to Mr. Collins’ proposal. When this happened, the entirety of the Lucas family was happy and â€Å"relieved from their apprehension of Charlotte s dying an old maid†(Austen 226).†The younger girls formed hopes of coming out a year or two sooner than they might otherwise have done; and the boys were relieved from their apprehension of Charlotte sShow MoreRelatedHow Do Couples Survive The Many Struggles Of Life?1289 Words   |  6 Pagesthere is a good chance that divorce has affected you in some way.
